Editorial Policy

This page explains exactly how FinanceTrekker creates, verifies, and maintains its content. We believe readers deserve to know how the sausage is made.

How content is created

  1. Topic selection — driven by what readers actually search for and what genuinely helps them.
  2. Research — we consult the source: CoinDesk, CoinTelegraph, CNBC, MarketWatch, Yahoo Finance, and — for facts, numbers, and regulations — primary sources such as the SEC, IRS, Federal Reserve, BLS, and U.S. Treasury.
  3. Writing — articles are written in plain English, structured for skimmability, and always answer: What is this? Why does it matter? What should I do next?
  4. Fact verification — every price, rate, percentage, date, and statistic is checked before publishing. If we cannot verify a number, we do not publish it.
  5. Editorial review — content is reviewed for accuracy, clarity, and balance by our editor before it goes live.

How sources are verified

  • Media sources are used for news and context.
  • Primary sources (SEC filings, Fed statements, IRS rules, official documentation) take precedence for any factual or legal claim.
  • We never copy articles. We research, verify, and build our own angle with our own words — always citing the source.

AI content policy

We use AI-assisted tools to produce and improve content. We do not hide this. However:

  • All AI-produced content is fact-checked, edited, and reviewed by our editor, Emma Whitfield, before publication.
  • AI is never used to invent quotes, statistics, events, people, financial numbers, or regulations.
  • Content is original, sourced, and adds value beyond the underlying source material.

Corrections

If we publish something wrong, we fix it fast. Errors are corrected in place, and the correction is noted on the article. Substantive corrections are logged with the date.

Updates

Evergreen articles are reviewed regularly. When prices, fees, tax rules, or regulations change, articles are updated and marked with an “Updated” date.

Affiliate relationships

Some guides (especially exchange and wallet reviews) contain affiliate links. If you use one of these links, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never influence our recommendations. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
